Chatgpt was released as a commercial product officially in November/2022. That was, for most of the people, the first encounter with abundand submissive intelligence in the palm of their hands. For a while, everyone was a little weird and didn't know what to ask, but rapidly humans did what they do best and figured out the proper way to extract value from that tool.
A very similar thing happened with many other technologies, such as touchscreens and open web search engines, such as Google. What I find different this time is the speed of the adoption and the extent of the cognitive damage that can come from this experience.
