The system will automatically:

1. Download external images to the cache directory
2. Apply ordered dithering to convert images to bitmap format
3. Cache processed images to avoid reprocessing
4. Update markdown references to point to processed versions
5. Skip excluded patterns like logos and icons

This creates a unique, retro aesthetic while ensuring consistent image availability.
